Heroes Challenge UK
On the 22nd May 2013, our team is aiming to raise the substantial sum of £100,000 for our wounded and injured armed forces personnel, with the beneficiary charity being, HELP FOR HEROES.
A unique and physically demanding event has been organized covering 1283 miles of the United Kingdom by Land, Sea and Air, a challenge to date, that has not been achieved.
Commencing at JOHN O’GROATS, Scotland, the team of 12, supported by a logistics unit, will cycle a total of 1206 miles, row across the Irish sea, there and back, summit the UK’s, four highest peaks (BEN NEVIS 4409 ft), (SLIEVE DONARD 2789 ft), (SCAFELL PIKE 3029 ft), (SNOWDON 3560 ft), totaling 13'787ft, before completing the ride to LANDS END.
The team will rendezvous with their aircraft, and skydive from 13'787ft, returning to Swansea as a final act, completing the mission statement,
"To unite the four home nations of the United Kingdom; Scotland, Northern Ireland, England and Wales and represent the three elements of our Armed services; Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force"
