The Team

 

Born in Hamphire and at the age of 17 joined the army. Grant spent the first 11 years of army life in the infantry, after serving in the infantry he them moved into the Army Air Corps and qualified as a pilot and flew Gazelle Helicopters for 12 years. . Grant is now working as a pilot for the Welsh Air Ambulance woking out of Swansea Airport. Grant is engaged to Rhian Lewis who aslo works for the air ambulance. They have two boys aged 7 and 8 and an immenent new arrival due in April.

 

Grant has won numerous awards for his life saving missions while piloting the air ambulance across the country.

Grant is pasionate about the Heroes Challenge event stating:

 

This is a tremendous event to raise funds for serving and injured armed forces personnel who have paid a heavy price while serving their country

 

 

 

 

Peter Bowker:

 

Peter is from North Wales and joined the army after leaving school at the age of 16. Peter served in the Welsh Cavalry as a trooper  and driver or armoured vehicles. Peter was posted to Afghanistan and was in Afghanistan for 2 months when he vehicle was attacked by a Road Side Bomb which went off under the vehicle. Peter suffered a  a traumatic amputation of his right leg and was discharged from the army in August 2012. Peter is very much looking to the future and has already qualified as a dive master and teaches people how to dive. When Peter isn't diving he works for the Princess Trust.
